As part of the USDA’s commitment to increase people’s access to nutritious food as part of the U.S. Food Waste Challenge, this program is intended to help match importers wishing to donate certain fruits, vegetables and nuts with charitable organizations registered to receive them under the FV-6 exemption. Importers of avocados, dates, grapefruit, kiwifruit, olives, onions, oranges, potatoes, tomatoes and walnuts are encouraged to learn how they can help feed the hungry by donating through these food banks.
