Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Seed Schemes Program
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Seed Schemes are rules used by 58 participating countries to certify and label seed for varietal purity for international movement. In the United States, varietal certification for the OECD Seed Schemes is carried out by state seed certifying agencies under Cooperative Agreements with the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service. The schemes are administered internationally by the OECD Secretariat in Paris, France.

To add new varieties or delete old varieties from the OECD Approved Varieties in the United States, choose a form, print it, fill in the information, and send it to your State seed certifying agency.

For multiplication increases in other countries under the OECD Seed Schemes, please complete the appropriate form.

The User Specification Guide (USG) provides guidelines to the Seed Certifying Agency for transferring data relevant to the OECD Seed Schemes Program. As the system evolves, the USG will be modified to reflect any changes.
