5. What method of payment is available for PVPO fees?

 
Answer: If the item you are requesting is (or ever has been) an issued certificate that has not already been posted, then the procedure to request copies is:

 
You can pay fees with a check or major credit card such as VISA, American Express, Discover, or Master Card using our approved Credit Card Payment Form (pdf) and fax the information to the office at (301) 504-5291.

 
Send us a letter indicating what you want to have copied. (Some people only want breeding history, others want the objective description, yet others want everything they can get including correspondence. Most want all of the certificate inserts, so that is the number we put on the website listed above.)

 
Please provide the PVP certificate number(s), crop kind(s), variety name(s) and the number(s) of pages. (If you do not know the total number of pages, prior to sending the request, you could send an e-mail or fax requesting the page count.) With this letter, send a check to cover the fees in the amount of $1.80 per page, made out to the "Treasurer of the United States". (We accept checks or money orders made out to the "Treasurer of the United States". Our Tax ID Number is 72-0564834. Be sure to provide a return address. Mail the request and check to :

We generally do not provide receipts for check or money order payments. If you would like a receipt, please ask for one in your letter and we will try to remember to put receipt information in the cover letter sent with the copies. (IT is not a normal part of the procedure and may be overlooked.)
