If you are interested in becoming a member of the United Sorghum Checkoff Program Board, you:
- Must be a sorghum producer who is engaged in the growing of sorghum in the United States who owns, or who shares the ownership and risk of loss of, such sorghum.
- Must be nominated by a Certified Producer Organization and submit a completed application.
For the 2015 Board, there are vacancies for four producer member positions—two in Kansas, one in Texas, and for one At-Large positions. The Secretary of Agriculture selects appointees from sorghum producers nominated by Certified Producer Organizations and members serve 3-year terms.
All eligible sorghum producers are invited to seek nomination for a seat on the Board.
